The convenience of transferring money with PayPal is nothing new. You simply enter the desired amount and the recipient's email address. Always be on your guard if you receive a message claiming that someone has mistakenly transferred money to your PayPal account—after all, they made a mistake entering the email address. Such cases have occurred frequently. Unfortunately, there's more to it than that.

Sample image of a criminalIn isolated cases, the targets were confronted with small amounts, at best, that suddenly landed in their payment service provider's account. They were then asked to return the amount as a "Family and Friends" payment option. If you are kind enough to comply with this request, this can even prove fatal. Because the payments may have been processed through buyer protection. A refund was returned by the victims via a private payment option. However, the buyer protection remains active. After the fraudster receives your payment, they have their payment reversed through the buyer protection system; the amount is debited from the victims twice.

 

Prevention:

If you have unknown deposits in your PayPal account, you can only debit them using the refund function. You can access this in the details section of the transaction item.
